Sadhna Qasai Masjid

Sadhna Qasai Mosque is the largest surviving historical mosque in Sirhind and also in the whole of the Indian side of Punjab. The mosque is located at a 1 kilometre distance from Jahaz Haveli, near the railway crossing, on the road to village Mir Miran. The Sadhna Mosque dates back to the late Delhi Sultanate or early Mughal times. It was built in the memory of Bhagat Sadhna, a mystic born into a Muslim family in Sindh. He was born into a family who were butchers (qasais) traditionally. Sadhna, as the local traditions maintain, was a Sufi mystic whose philosophy can neither be placed in modern standards of Hindu and Islamic religious traditions & is regarded as one of the bhakti saints in medieval India. He was always at odds with orthodox Hindu Brahmins and Muslim Mullahs, both in his native Sindh and Sirhind. His hymn was included in Adi Granth by 5th guru, Guru Arjan Dev more than 300 years after his death and is venerated as Bhagat by Sikhs.
